Hi everybody. After the last month’s launch of Hat-Trick online on Tabletopia, we would like to ask you one simple question. It has to do with the Match Centre project, so if you are acquainted with it, you can skip the middle part and find the question at the end of this post.
Generally speaking, the Match Centre is a concept: a website where every person wishing to play Hat-Trick online can register (for free) and set up his/her Hat-Trick team. This setup would include team’s name, colors, crest, motto and, most importantly, lineup (using the ‘Players’ expansion). Here’s what you could end up with:
The moment you complete it, your team will appear in the Match Centre for all to see and you will have the possibility:
to challenge other managers/teams to an online Hat-Trick match
get challenged by other managers to an online Hat-Trick match
Naturally, every result would generate ranking points and statistics, updated after every match.
All this would be free of charge, so no subscription fees. There would be paid content, of course, mainly dealing with the team customization, but nothing mandatory. If you want no part of it, that’s absolutely fine.
The big question, however, is, if there are enough people to make it happen. With no users, there is no Match Centre. And I don’t mean any users, but those who are ready to devote the minimum amount of time for this to work. And what is this ‘minimum amount of time’? Well, I’d say 2 full matches a month on average.
So, here’s the deal. Now, it is your turn to decide.
Once the Match Centre launches in September, will you become a part of it, that is – register, set up your team and play at least 6 matches in the following 3 months? If yes, please leave your email (the one which we sent the newsletter to) in the field below.
Once we get enough people on board –let’s say 50 – everyone who signed up will be notified and will start receiving monthly updates about the progress of works. See you there!
Hat-Trick online is on!
We are happy to announce that as of today Hat-Trick (including the ‘Players’ expansion) has gone online. Check it out on Tabletopia right here.
A few hints for all those that are new to Tabletopia:
It runs best on Internet Explorer (latest version), quite well on Firefox, supposedly on Chrome and not sure about Opera.
Navigate the camera with WASD keys or use the mouse.
You flip cards with the F key, rotate them with Q and E and grab/select more than one holding SHIFT.
If you want to do something with cards/decks, highlight them first by clicking on them. They should turn blue.
When you want to play an Action Card from your hand, flip it face down while it’s still in your hand, so that your opponent can’t see it once it lands on the table.
To put a card in a deck, hold it above the middle of deck until the deck turns orange. Once you release the button, the card will go on top.
Remember about SHUFFLING – right click on the deck and choose SHUFFLE.
To make things more interesting, we made 2 tables for you. One with national teams from the original game, like the ones below:
and one with some custom made clubs. Like this one here.
So, that’s that. If something new pops up, I’ll let you know, preferrably in this thread on Board Game Geek. You can also ask questions there, arrange online matches or come up with brave new ideas – an online tournament, perhaps?
